Coochiemudlo Island - my island home!
Late 2018, I re-located to my new island home Coochiemudlo in Queensland. It is a beautiful island filled with many wonderful people some of who I can now call friends. So when I'm not travelling and performing, this is where I'll be - sunny Queensland!
Despite being a Queenslander, I still retain ties to Victoria through friends and family so do occasionally visit. I also look forward to continued performance in various interstate events including the PAVE Festival in Victoria, The Kernewek Lowender in Yorke Peninsula in South Australia and the Irish & Celtic Music Festival in Yass, New South Wales!
Whilst it is
Here's a traditional song recorded unplugged in my seaside cottage back in Victoria. It isn't a polished studio version, but it is live and it does have José Garcia singing and playing and guitar; as well as David Graham and his magnificent double bass!
One thing I do miss is to be able to readily play music with David and Jose. You can stop, pause, adjust the volume or even replay 'Amazing Grace' by clicking on the appropriate buttons above. For more music samples, including originals, please go to my 'Music' page. |

Hello and welcome!
Well it has been a busy time for me, particularly after visiting Victoria and having a brief rest in Queensland before heading off to South Australia. For the latest news, please visit my social media - FaceBook (FB) pages. In particular the Tidal Moon FB page contains a great deal of specific information about upcoming gigs. If you have problems accessing anything or want clarification on any points, please feel free to contact me. Enjoy Barbara Jeffrey, May 2019 |
Nouveau Folk
I've been using this term in describing the genre I play because whilst the harp is known as a fairly traditional instrument, it is capable of a variety of music styles depending on how it is played and how it is accompanied. So, whilst not normally associated in a pub setting, the harp has seen its fair share of drinking halls and loud venues. The music whilst respecting tradition, can be upbeat as well as serene. It all depends on the journey the audience wants to take! |
